Young voices: With willpower comes strength
The Danish organisation Ungdomsbureauet has published a book containing a collection of stories written by young people with Greenlandic roots.
With honesty and courage, they invite us into life as a young person living in and between Greenland and Denmark – in the space between two cultures, two languages and two realities.
Everything is written in both Greenlandic and Danish, and the books is part of a series giving a voice to underrepresented and stigmatised young people.
The aim is to raise awareness of what it is like to be young in the life situations described by the authors, and to create greater representation in the public debate on issues that concern young people themselves.
Ungdomsbureauet is a commercial foundation that has worked since 2013 to increase possibilities for young people to engage in society. Because they believe that democratic confidence is strengthened through engagement.
All of this is done with one goal in mind: to create a society in which all young people are naturally included in the decisions that affect their lives.
